Well - I think I finally got the bucket hat the way I want it! The first hat I attempted in cream did not come out well. It was too big and looked goofy on. I did follow the instructions and doubled the brim up but I think that made the fiber stretch too much. From the pics below you can see what I mean.

So my second attempt was carefully constructed because I wanted to get it right!! I decided not to double the brim and I worked the smaller size praying it would fit my head when I was done. Thank Goodness it did! Here are some shots of it blocking. The blocking is key to having a nice finished bucket! I spent a lot of time steam blocking it. I am really grooving on the color! Hot pink! Lovely.

So here is the finished Hot Pink Bucket!! Oooh laa la! I was so happy with the results I had to wear it that afternoon.

You are the CUTEST in that hat. What a great color it is, and I love how the brim stands out in true bucket hat fashion. Big thumbs-up here!

Hey Boston Nicole! You are all linked up to my site - just tested it out. You have a very cute blog. Nice progress on Anouk and the buckets. BTW, the Fantasy Naturale is a bigger guage than the yarn recommended for the buckets, which probably explains why it doesn't work well doubled (I have some and am using it for an upcoming design). I love it left single, particularly for the BOC - it has nice heft! I used Cascade 220 for my BUP and it looks great doubled, so if for some reason you make a fourth bucket on worsted yarn, you might want to consider going double. I may try Fantasy Naturale fo rmy next BUP - very chic. Oh yeah, if you do go double, try starting out on 24" circs instead of 16" until you hit the decreases - it makes a huge difference on the hand strain.

Your bucket looks great! Nice color and I like what you did to customize the pattern.
