Back from Florida - ahh the sun, the surf and the mojitos!! What a wonderful trip - now back to reality.

I did not knit in the sun. I did bring all my current projects with me to knit – but they never made it out of the suitcase. I don’t know - It felt odd to knit by the pool. The hotel we were at did not have a beach due to the past hurricanes that blew it all away. Boo Hoo! We did not let that stop us from taking a dip in the ocean. We also spent some time snorkeling off the Florida Keys. Fun! Swimming with the Fishes! The best Pina Colada I ever had was is Key Largo – Yummy!! But when I returned to dreary New England - I did get back into the knit of things - over the first three series one disks of Alias. Spies, crimes and betrayals oh my!! I got cranking on the Bucket O Chic – original version. The cotton was nice to work with. It’s light and a bit floppy but I think it will be good for the Spring into Summer.
Viola - the cotton bucket is finished!!

Here's a shot to show the side & back - one side is rolling a bit - I need to fix with more blocking. As you can see I chose to use stockinette stitch for the brim - but the next hat I do I'll following the patterns directions.

I liked the cotton so much I went back and bought some more! This past weekend I worked on the Bucket Up version. I must say I'm not loving the double standed cotton. It has made the brim very heavy - and my hat is looking a little funny. I still have to do the decreases for the crown. I will post pictures when I finish.
Speaking of funny here are some shots of goofy pics for Becky's Knit Along - see Becky I can ham it up!

You're back!!! Welcome back! I missed you! And I envy your tan!
Your bucket hat looks GREAT. But my favorites are (you know it) the smiley shots and the shots of you hamming it up. Priceless!

Very cute hat, and very spring/summer, especially with that glowing tan! That's a beautiful Florida shot too, I am jealous.

Your hat is one of my favorites from becky's links of finished hats. I want one in white like you. What brand of yarn did you use? (and more importantly, can we get it in the US?!?)
